About Chengdu Bistro - West Town

A cozy eatery that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Sichuan province, particularly the vibrant food scene of Chengdu. Our menu incorporates the most popular noodle dishes and hand-made dumplings.

Chengdu Bistro - West Town is a chinese restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It is listed at 2211 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60647, which places it among the local businesses of Chicago that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Chicago; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 4–9 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Chengdu Bistro - West Town at (872) 315-2926; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is chengdubistro.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 376 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinese restaurants in Chicago.

Had a really poor pickup order experience. Order was done 25 minutes after stated time and the guy working the front said it’s because β€œwhen it gets busy they batch cook items” like our dried chili chicken. Sure. Fair. Unfortunately by the time we got home with the food (a <5 minute drive), all our other food was cold and it was clear that while we were waiting for our chicken everything else (our 3 orders of dumplings and a noodle dish) was just sitting out. You can see all our noodles just stuck to each other in our picture. We’ve been here to dine in before and really loved it but this was one of the worst pickup experiences we’ve had in the city. Honestly, just order takeout from their sister restaurant Chengdu Impression, the food is just as good, it’s ready in like 15 minutes, and a little cheaper.

Amazing Szechuan food! A cozy spot where a group of friends or a nice date can be held! The xiao long bao was amazing! (Soup dumplings) filling was tasty and soft! Outstanding customer service omg. Genuinely felt so welcomed and accommodated. They did not rush us on a girls night and let us chat a bit after the bill was paid. Left with a great good bye from the team. Amazing way to end a Thursday night. Please stop by if in the wicker park neighborhood!

Phenomenal dry chili chicken. Definitely a must-try here. Great Zhong's dumplings and wontons also. The wrappers were cooked to a good doneness: silky and not mushy. The filling was fatty ground pork so it was a tad too greasy for me. I prefer the sweet soy sauce of the Zhong's dumplings but thought it could have used more filling.

Amazing Szechuan food. The service is great and the food comes out unbelievably quickly. I will be craving the dry chili chicken as soon as I leave ❀️ every other dish was great as well. Very flavorful and well seasoned.

Came here for a birthday dinner with a friend. Everything I ate was delicious, flavorful, not too salty. Even the cucumbers and garlic seemed like it might be basic but it was full of garlic flavor unlike you’ll ever expect. The braised beef noodle soup was a favorite and the xialong boa was served perfectly hot to where the soup filling didn’t burn your mouth. They were also the perfect size to pop right in your mouth whole and enjoy. The noodles you got to pick and they were clearly made in house and were delicious. I highly recommend trying dessert if you’ve never had it, they are more traditional and some of my favorites. Extremely delicious. The setting is actually quite cozy and styled to be slightly upscale. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere felt calm. I had a lovely time and the food was comforting and nostalgic for me. I will definitely be back.
